Went for dinner on a Tuesday@ 5:30. Beat the crowd. Tapas (small sharing plates) restaurant. The food was EXCELLENT. We had the Duck Croquettes, brisket on baguettes, avocado and crab salad and spinach & mushroom empanadas. Food came out very quickly and the portions were perfect for sharing. I could eat a whole plate of the duck myself they were that good. Our server, Yovi, was helpful with suggestions as this was our first visit. Definitely will go here again. A great place to go if you like to try different foods. It was a bit loud inside so you had to talk a little louder. Pricing was typical of other nice restaurants. Lacked authentic Spanish flavors. The baked goat cheese was a sweet tomato sauce with a few streaks of white with stale toast. The olde Madrid salad was over dressed, the components were tasty. The calamari was greasy, lightly breaded, & no tenticles. The duck croquetas were super greasy, overly seasoned. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Hi Francisco! Thank you for your honest review! Being authentic Spanish in the midwest is a challenge, but we've been in business for almost two decades and have tried to implement a type of fusion cuisine. The baked goat cheese with our signature grilled bread is a favorite- I'm so sorry that you didn't find it to your liking. And I agree our house salad is tasty! Folks have complained in the past that there wasn’t enough dressing, so that’s a tricky thing to nail down when it comes to preference. The calamari and duck are deep fried - that that may be a contributing factor why they came across as greasy. (The Pulpo on our menu is what I would recommend for if you’re looking for tentacles, as the menu indicates that the calamari is just the rings.) Regardless- I wish your visit was more satisfactory. But I appreciate the fact that you mentioned that it might have just been an off night. We are blessed with so many loyal customers and the majority of positive reviews! Like I mentioned though, honest feedback is what helps us better ourselves, so this is all beneficial to hear to help us talk to our staff. I’d love to have more of a conversation and send you a gift card for a chance to try us again. Thank you! Natalie and Chef Manny Owner/Chef Olde Madrid
