Nestled in the quaint area of Shinohara Minamimachi, Olive in Kobe offers an eclectic ambiance for those seeking a casual, cozy dining experience. The restaurant is open for lunch and dessert on specific days, featuring limited hours of operation throughout the week. Olive boasts a unique setting that includes various decorations, such as large oil paintings that change with the seasons. Though primarily noted for its dine-in service, it doesn't currently offer delivery or wheelchair accessibility options.
Guests at Olive can enjoy a variety of offerings including coffee, organic dishes, and alcoholic beverages like wine and beer. For diners looking for a quick bite, there are also small plates available. Notably, Olive has amenities like gender-neutral toilets to accommodate different needs. Not explicitly marked by noticeable signs, newcomers may need to keep an eye out for olive plants at the entrance as a subtle landmark.
The establishment, characterized by its 'cash-only' policy, has been associated with special events rather than regular daily operations. In the past, it has hosted unique gatherings such as song salons, which were popular among long-time fans. Reviews from previous patrons mention these one-of-a-kind experiences, hinting at Olive's part-time nature and specific audience. It's worth noting that visitor feedback dates back 5 years, and there is no recent information provided by the owner, leaving current activity somewhat uncertain.
