We were just passing through Nanango and happened to come across Burning Oil Cafe — and what a little gem it turned out to be. We had zero expectations and simply ordered fish and chips, but it completely surprised us. The food was genuinely high quality — fresh, delicious, and very affordable. Cath, who served us (and is also the owner), was incredibly friendly. There was just such a warm, welcoming energy about her that made the whole experience even better. The vibe and decoration of the place are also really eye-catching — it has a unique charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. It’s not often you stumble across something this good in a small town while travelling — but this was definitely one of those moments. A great find and well worth the stop.
