Kissa Omoitsuki is a B leaning towards an A. It's not just a place to eat, but a place where old Kobe café culture and human warmth remain. The menu is simple: coffee, toast, morning sets, mixed juice, and the quiet grammar of a neighbourhood kissaten. This is not a shop for culinary technique; it is a shop for time. Its strength lies in the people: a café that began with a mother’s sudden idea, run with the softness of family presence, where regulars gather in the morning and first-time visitors are still made to feel welcome. The place itself belongs to Nishidemachi, a little away from the bright face of Kobe, near housing, workshops, and the market. If smoking is still allowed, this becomes a serious weakness, and for someone who doesn't drink coffee, the centre shifts a little. Still, I would go for the mixed juice and toast. It's a small port town sitting room where the main thing served may not be food, but the feeling that time has not fully left. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

A heartwarming home café with 72 years of history Omoitsuki is a truly special place, lovingly operated by two elderly sisters who have been running this cosy home café for an incredible 72 years. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with genuine warmth and kindness. Even though we don’t speak or understand Japanese, they made us feel completely at home with their hospitality and friendly smiles. The atmosphere is timeless—simple, welcoming, and filled with the charm of decades of care. It’s not just about the coffee or the food, but the feeling of being embraced like family. Their dedication and warmth make this café a living treasure in Kobe. If you’re nearby, don’t miss the chance to visit. You’ll leave not only with a satisfied heart but also with a memory of true Japanese hospitality that has endured across generations. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
