What a fabulous find for a Friday lunch...! From the moment we stepped in, the experience was top-notch. The meal was delightful, especially the cauliflower—it was a true standout. The potatoes and burger were equally delicious, making it tough to pick a favorite. And oh, the wine list was simply perfect, catering to every taste. While I was initially excited about the experience, I must admit that my overall impression was rather disappointing. Let's begin with the positives. The service at One Penny Red was nothing short of impeccable. The staff demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism, attentiveness, and courtesy throughout the entire meal. From the moment we walked in until the time we left, we were attended to with utmost care and efficiency. The restaurant's dedication to providing exceptional service is truly commendable. Another strong point of One Penny Red was its diverse and well-curated wine selections. The extensive wine list offered a wide array of choices, catering to various preferences and palates. However, the standout issue that marred our visit was the overwhelming saltiness of the dishes we ordered. Despite our excitement to try a range of items from the menu, we were disappointed to find that every single dish we ordered was excessively salty. This excessive salinity detracted from the flavours and textures of the otherwise well-presented dishes. As patrons who had eagerly awaited the experience at One Penny Red, this culinary letdown was truly disheartening.
