Absolutely loved our visit to Oniseh. The biggest surprise is upstairs – it’s absolutely gorgeous and perfect for small parties. It genuinely feels like a little oasis that transports you far away from Surrey. We were welcomed with a big pot of delicious Persian tea, which set the tone perfectly. We started with the Ash Reshteh, which was rich, hearty and full of flavour – proper comfort food. For mains, the Ghormeh Sabzi was outstanding, deeply aromatic with tender lamb that was genuinely melt-in-the-mouth. The Aroosi Pelah was another highlight, beautifully fragrant with saffron rice, barberries and nuts – a really special dish. Portions are very generous and everything is clearly made with real care and attention. The chicken dishes were incredibly tender and full of flavour too. The decor is beautiful, warm and thoughtfully done, and the upstairs space in particular is stunning. What really makes the place though is the owner, who is also the chef – incredibly hospitable, kind and welcoming. Open seven days a week and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend. What a lovely place! The owner welcomed us with Iranian tea and offered us soup whilst we were waiting. I had Arooso Pelah, and the chicken was so tender it was falling off the bone. The sweet sauce was absolutely delicious. The place itself feels like stepping into someone home, it's very cosy. Will definitely return!
