We were extremely disappointed by our visit to this restaurant, which sadly turned out to be a tourist trap. We had two issues, but the main reason for the low score is the biggest one: we were served fish that wasn't fresh. I find this unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone a seafood restaurant. My partner got an upset stomach right after the meal even though we didn't eat much of the bad fish once we tasted it. Maybe because we went on a Sunday and they didn't receive a fresh haul for the tuna and swordfish, which were the offenders. I'm a trained chef but my partner could also very easily taste the offness. The other issue was that we were literally told "there will be some octopus and calamari on the 2 people seafood platter with some daily fish so you can taste all" and there was neither calamari or octopus. I asked why and was basically told I was lying or confused. We didn't want to make a big fuss so we chalked it up to a language barrier. But it did leave a sour taste in our mouths, but not more sour than the bad fish. We would have ordered a separate octopus anyway but after this and some food not being fresh, decided not to risk it. I also found it strange there was no bread served and the 2 people platter included odd numbers of seafood (3 prawns etc.) and a single piece of a veggie slice per person (one zucchini slice, one eggplant slice). It looked very skimpy. On the plus side, the design and atmosphere (including some of the other staff) was pleasant. They offered us dessert but we weren't enjoying the dinner anymore so we opted to leave. A bad food/service experience can nullify the atmosphere instantly as was in our case. Also some of the other seafood (salmon, sea bass, and prawns) were fresh and tasty. Price was OK, not cheap nor expensive for the amount. But definitely a rip off for fish that's not fresh. Unfortunately this was our only seafood dinner on the island so we had to leave without any proper seafood, which is a shame considering it's one of the few things Kos has going for it. I think we'll stick to Bodrum next time. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €25–30

To be honest, pretty average, we expected more. Food was normal, simple, nothing extraordinary for not low at all prices. My fish was too salty, unfortunately. I wanted to order something like lemonade to drink but didn’t find anything in menu. Our waiter offered something not mentioned in menu, it was suspicious. I ordered, it was regular good bottled lemonade, but still a bit odd situation. Overall, disappointed. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I had dinner at Opa! in Kos Town and it was one of the best meals of my trip. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome — friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to have us there. The service was absolutely fabulous. We ordered fresh fish, and it was outstanding. Perfectly grilled, full of flavor, and so fresh it practically melted in your mouth. The octopus was also incredible — tender and smoky, exactly how it should be. Everything was paired beautifully with simple sides and a crisp local wine recommended by our waiter. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, with a lovely upstairs terrace that feels cozy and special at the same time. Prices are very fair for the quality of food and service you get. If you’re in Kos, you absolutely have to eat here. Amazing fish, wonderful service, and a place that makes you feel like more than just a customer. Highly recommend!
