easily some of the best food i have ever tasted in my LIFE. so good i came for lunch 2 days in a row. seriously i never write reviews, but this was review worthy. portions are amazing. the beef patties TO DIE FOR. definitely a must try spot for delicious hearty food Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I ordered egusi soup and fufu. I liked the flavor of the egusi soup but I wish I had the option to add meat. The meal was still good, just healthier than what I wanted . You could tell the food was cooked with fresh ingredients and wasn’t sitting for an extended period of time which I greatly appreciate. The portion size was generous for the price though. I ordered through a delivery app. The packaging was great and I liked the container it came in. I’m pretty sure it’s recyclable material but it’s very sturdy. I would come back but I would just pick it up myself so I could customize the order. **Edit: Went back the next day but ordered via phone and was able to add goat meat to the egusi. That made a huge difference. I’m sure if you are vegan you would appreciate the non-meat version but as someone who isn’t, the meat definitely made a difference. Our family loves Open Crumb! We have been fans since the spot in Anacostia. The flavors are delicious. From the egusi and fufu, to the salmon and jollof, to the salad - it is a favorite with the adults and children of our family. It was so nice to meet Chef Peter.
