According to the guests' comments, Japanese dishes here are tasty. Come here for nicely cooked sushi, crab legs and soup if you are hungry. To try good ice cream is a really nice idea.

No impressed at all. And the signs saying they will charge you more if you have waste, are ridiculous. I won’t be back.

Osaka Buffet offered the best sushi I've found in Illinois or Iowa. I've been here 10 years and found my love of sushi to be a tremendous burden, because it is hard to find good sushi outside of Chicago. My husband and I tried Osaka Buffet on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The sushi is not terribly authentic (nothing like what you'd find in Japan), but for Americanized sushi, it is excellent. It was extremely fresh, pretty well made and the rice was a superb texture. They even offered some harder-to-find sashimis, like squid and clam. We also sampled their "Chinese" cuisine and found it quite good, better than many of the other Chinese buffets in the area. We ate at 4 pm on a Thursday, 3 days before Christmas and even though the restaurant was slow, the food was very fresh and hot. None of that sticky congealed sauce you so often find in Chinese buffets when food has been sitting far too long. I have no great love for buffets; usually, I'm a reluctant follower of my buffet-loving Midwestern husband, but I will happily return to Osaka Buffet.
