Decent menu but nothing sensational. The staff shows zero tolerance towards children even if declared in the reservation made many days before. Fri accepts only immobile children. Kid-friendliness: No availability towards children although accepting reservations with openly declared children. Children allowed only if still and silent, possibly equipped with an electronic device that stuns them. Absolutely not recommended for groups with children. HATEFUL!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We had a written reservation, but the absolutely unfriendly staff initially said that couldn't be right. When I showed it, they casually said that it was just bad luck because there was no space. They simply didn't care and didn't help us find another restaurant. Service: 1

We go to Ristorante Mecenate every time we are in Lucca and we simply love it. Locally sourced products, delicious food and wine and the kindest and professional service. Don't miss their bread, foccacia or the mixed starter plate. And make sure you make a reservation as the restaurant is a favorite among locals and tourists as well. Special thanks to Bianca who always knows what to recommend!
