Food was ok. Pizza was not fantastic, sauce was bland, crust dry and flavorless. The cheesy breadsticks were good. Poor service, waited a long time to get our order in and our bill. Also awkward when server just waits at table for you to pay instead of giving you a check to pay. Cheeseburger looked good, maybe try that. Parking: Parking available behind building. We’re just a couple of out of towners passing through Iowa. That’s when we stumbled upon “The Other Place.” Deceiving name if you ask me, nonetheless we still decided to give it a shot. Not bad! Mediocre American food perfect for your road-trip lunch stop. My Texan friend got the Longhorn. He said that “there wasn’t anything very longhorny about it, it just had bbq sauce that was the extent of its texanness.” Then again he said that “Texans aren’t very well known for their burgers.” Fair enough. My friend and I shared a 12” hot honey bbq chicken bacon ranch pizza. After two slices we were full, granted we already ate a lot of beef jerky beforehand. The crust was thick, the cheese was heavy, the sauce was present and the chicken was chicken. Yummy! Glad we stopped in at this fine establishment.
