Great spot behind Shiseido in Ginza. Delicious fresh oysters, carpaccio was small but tasty, and oyster ahijo was fabulous. Excellent wine list, attentive staff. Did not try and rush us out- great service. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Jan 28, 2026 ¥4,000 for a 5-piece oyster platter and ¥3,850 for a seafood platter was straight up too expensive for the size of each piece. Shrimp cocktail (¥1,200) was also pitiful with 4 small shrimps. As appetizers, these dishes left a bad impression of the cost performance for the rest of the night. It’s a pity because I liked the basil butter whelk and lemon cream oyster pasta. Anchovy fries, which I saw on the counter before getting served to another table and ordered since it looked very appetizing, was such a letdown because it was soggy and not crunchy at all. Fried oysters (¥800 for 2 pieces) and simmered fish were ok. Cheesecake with a caramel flavor was very tasty. Beautiful entrance and nice ambience on the inside. We sat at the counter on the outside, right near the entrance. It was brighter and not too loud so that was a plus. But I don’t understand why we sat literally facing the kitchen and the cook, yet the service was so choppy? They kept forgetting our orders, twice, of the fried oysters and a whiskey. Prompt refill of water glasses but they could’ve given us the jug from the start. Got a table at 18:45 on a Wednesday without a reservation. Seemed like they had seats the day of when I checked on Tabelog. The food was not terrible by any means and servers were polite, but at this price range albeit eaten all up by Ginza rent, I expect a step up in quality and quantity. Strictly speaking, this was my second visit, but I wouldn’t come back for the third. Price per person: ¥8,000–9,000 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit Pescaderia Ginza and for sharing such a detailed and candid review. We truly appreciate your honesty. We are sincerely sorry that several of our dishes did not meet your expectations in terms of portion size, value, and overall first impression—especially the oyster platters, shrimp cocktail, and anchovy fries. Your comments regarding texture and cost performance are taken very seriously. At the same time, we are grateful to hear that you enjoyed the basil butter whelk, the lemon cream oyster pasta, and the caramel-flavored cheesecake. We also deeply apologize for the service lapses you experienced. Forgetting orders—particularly more than once—is unacceptable, and we regret that our service did not reflect the level of attentiveness you should expect, especially while seated at the counter. This is something we are addressing internally by reviewing our service flow and communication between the kitchen and floor staff. While Ginza is undeniably a challenging location, we firmly believe that this should never be an excuse. Quality, quantity, and service must justify the price, and your feedback clearly shows us where we fell short during your visit. Thank you again for your time and for giving us a second chance in the past. We are genuinely sorry that this visit did not leave you wanting to return, and we appreciate your thoughtful feedback all the same.

Despite the unassuming entry that leads downstairs, the restaurant is A++. We were early walk-ins (at 5pm), no reservation, and they accommodated us nonetheless. The tables filled within an hour, on a weekday, but the bar area had room. I’m an oyster snob. I grew up knowing how to shuck an oyster before even knowing what steak was. I’ve worked in restaurants that serve oysters from around the world. Pescaderia may have had the best oysters I’ve ever had in my life (I’m no young buck). You pay for what you get here. It is not inexpensive, but the amusement bouche, English speaking staff, and incredible choices of food and drink make it completely worth it. It’s seemed to be a very upscale, local establishment, but they catered to us like none other. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Salad
