We purchased two burgers for Rs. 1,600 from Quick Pack Fast Food Stall and paid Rs. 2,000 in cash. However, the staff told us that they did not have enough change, so I decided to make the payment by card instead. To my surprise, Rs. 1,650 was charged to my card. When I questioned the additional Rs. 50, they told me that it was a 3% card payment charge. As far as I understand, passing the card transaction fee directly to the customer as an additional charge is not permitted, and customers should not be made to bear such charges.More importantly, they did not inform me about this additional 3% charge before I made the card payment. Customers should be clearly informed of any additional charges before completing a transaction. What was even more disappointing was the attitude of one of the staff members. When I questioned the charge, the person said, in effect, “If you want to complain anywhere, go ahead. Nobody can do anything to us.” This kind of response is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of respect for customers. I am extremely disappointed with both the unexpected additional charge and the poor customer service. I will also consider raising this matter with the relevant consumer protection authorities.
