Friday’s dinner for our party of four was honestly a mixed bag. First, the Positives: * The nearby parking garage was clutch. There is also a valet option, which we would have preferred, but the valet station was unmanned when we drove by it twice. * Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. * The ambience and canal views from our table were nice. We also appreciated being seated in the corner, where it was relatively quiet. * The PT Manhattan and chocolate dessert I ordered were delicious. * One of my dining companions particularly enjoyed the garlic rosemary fries, Hiramasa roll, and crème brûlée. * The desserts were generously sized. * The indoor dining area is spacious, and the outdoor seating area is also a decent size. The Not-So-Positives: For the price, the short rib and steak frites entrees we ordered were rather small. The flavors were just okay, and my short rib wasn't nearly as tender or moist as I would have liked. Service was lacking throughout the evening. We had to ask about multiple drinks we had ordered, and one drink ordered toward the end of our meal, when we were ready for after-dinner drinks, dessert, and coffee, never even arrived. Water service was equally disappointing. Our glasses were empty about halfway through the meal, yet we never received refills. One member of our party was "lucky" enough to have another server stop by and pour the remnants of her water pitcher into his glass, giving him a whopping one-third of a glass of water. I'm not kidding. Our biggest disappointment, however, was our primary server, who seemed either new, overworked, or disinterested. He was pleasant enough, but the service simply wasn't up to par. I hate to say that, but I have to be honest. As for the food, we enjoyed the Hiramasa roll, while the calamari we ordered as our other shared appetizer was fine but nothing special. When I ordered the braised short rib, I specifically requested a side of jalapeño peanut coleslaw. Instead, the restaurant substituted the potatoes that came with my entrée for the slaw. Once we pointed out the mistake, another server quickly brought out a side of potatoes. I also tried some of my friend's steak frites, which were just okay. Final Thoughts: When you have so many other quality dining options nearby, you can't afford to fall short on either food quality or service. Unfortunately, this experience left us wanting more on both fronts. I last dined here over a year ago and had a much better experience during lunchtime. I'm not sure whether the restaurant has declined since then or whether we simply caught it on an unusually subpar evening. Either way, based on this visit, I wouldn't be in a hurry to return. We had a pretty good experience at Pacific Table. We really liked the calamari and shrimp appetizer. The cioppino was also good and had plenty of flavor. The trout, unfortunately, was a little dry and was probably our least favorite dish of the meal. The desserts, however, were excellent! We tried the crème brûlée and the ice cream sandwich, and both were really good. The restaurant has a nice vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it a great spot for a relaxed meal. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and wouldn’t mind coming back and trying some of the other dishes. Pradeep, thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback! We're really happy you enjoyed the calamari and shrimp, cioppino, and especially those desserts. We definitely want to do better with the trout, and I appreciate you letting us know about that. We'd love to have you back to try more dishes, and hope your next visit is even better!
