Great country pub. We called in for lunch as we were in the area. We were greeted by a really friendly member of staff. The pub is very clean with a traditional decor. The most striking thing about our visit was the food. My wife and I both ordered the Steak and Ale Pie, which was simply amazing!!!! The chef came out to ask how the food was. When I told him the pie was probably the best I’d ever had, he smirked and gave a knowing look and said “it’s cooked with love”! The pie lid was crisp and light. The steak was so tender with a great after taste of ale. Amazing. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Perfect meal for 9 of our party. The food was excellent and at a reasonable price as the quality of cooking was of a high standard. Food is locally sourced. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. It was a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to hurry our meal. I would highly recommend the Pack horse Inn. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: The mushroom stroganoff was lovely. There were a few options.
