The hotel is in an excellent location, and our room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The room amenities were quite basic. There was only shower gel provided—no shampoo, conditioner, or other toiletries that are usually expected in a hotel of this standard. Most of the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. We would especially like to thank Priselia Almada, who provided exceptional service throughout our stay. She was warm, patient, always smiling, and gave us wonderful recommendations for places to visit. Her kindness and professionalism made a real difference to our experience. Unfortunately, we also had a very disappointing experience with another receptionist, who gave us inaccurate information that ended up costing us a great deal of money. We asked specifically whether we could go to the rooftop in the evening to enjoy the live guitar performance. We were told very clearly—and we asked more than once to be sure—that the only way to access the rooftop during the performance was to pay €90 per person for dinner. Since we were looking forward to spending a relaxing evening with the music and the beautiful view, we agreed. Unfortunately, the meal was very disappointing and comparable to what we could have had at one of the simplest restaurants in Funchal, despite costing €90 per person. When we later raised the issue, the receptionist denied ever giving us that information. However, both of us heard exactly the same explanation and confirmed it several times during the conversation. We have no doubt that we were misinformed. This experience was extremely disappointing and overshadowed an otherwise wonderful stay. Had we been given accurate information, we would have made a completely different decision. Despite this unfortunate incident, we would still recommend the hotel because of its excellent location, spacious rooms, outstanding breakfast, and the exceptional service provided by staff members like Priselia Almada. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Nothing to complain about, but I felt like I got a good deal on the room, so your mileage may vary.

Great hotel, just be careful when booking to check whether you have a suite directly located in Se boutique hotel or if is it an apartment, 5 walking minutes away. Great breakfast, top location in the old town.
