We came across Padela by chance and were absolutely delighted. It was definitely one of those unexpected restaurant discoveries you remember and we will absolutely come back. The food was outstanding, especially if you love truffles. We had the truffle risotto with prawns and the pasta with prawns, both were excellent. We also really enjoyed the ciabatta with salmon cream as a starter. The restaurant itself has a beautiful atmosphere and is very stylish and tastefully decorated. The staff were fantastic as well, incredibly friendly, helpful, attentive and quick. A wonderful experience from start to finish and a restaurant we can wholeheartedly recommend. Another Croatian Tourist Trap. We had some hopes for this restaurant, but it turned out to be an expensive disappointment. The service was fine. Our waiter was polite. In fact, he was the best thing about the entire experience and the reason he received a tip. The tip certainly wasn't for the kitchen. We started with two tartares. The tartare itself wasn't bad, but everything around it was worrying. It was served with what appeared to be the cheapest supermarket toast, just two small pieces per portion. Even worse were the accompanying vegetables: a rotten tomato and dry, yellowish arugula that had clearly lost any resemblance to freshness. After that start, we were understandably concerned about what was coming next. Sadly, our concerns were justified. The restaurant's much-advertised specialty, the blue pasta with shrimp (€28), was a lesson in how to charge premium prices for budget exexecution. The plate was overloaded with dry pasta, lacked sufficient sauce, and came with just three small pieces of shrimp. The special salad (€11) was equally bad featuring the same tired, exhausted greenery we had already encountered with the starter. Fresh ingredients are not an unreasonable expectation at these prices. The second main course, featuring shellfish, was simply mediocre (23eur). In total, we paid around €120 for a genuinely poor dinner. This place survives because of its location, not because of the quality of its food. It's the kind of restaurant that tourists visit once and locals avoid. The saddest part? We are Croatians. We should have known better than to fall into such an obvious tourist trap.
