There was almost no cheese in the quesadillas and the food was lukewarm. The tamale did not even look like a tamale and came with the wrong meat. The waitress was quite gracious and took our food back to the cook a couple of times but it it stayed unrecognizable in terms of being Mexican. Tacos is way better! Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

Located on South Grand in Tower Grove, is Padrinos in case you’re craving some authentic Mexican cuisine with a kick. In Spanish, Padrinos means “godparents” which signifies love, passion, and commitment. The ambiance is bright and colorful and the menu boasts many classics! If you're a fan of heat, the Shrimp Al Diabla is a must-try. Be prepared for that spicy explosion of flavor though. Here is your 2nd warning: the portions here are no joke, so bring your appetite. Behind the scenes, these chef artists are led by Christina Robles, Enrique Robles, and Ciro Trapala. They have roots spanning from Veracruz to Mexico City thereby providing us with diverse authentic Mexican flavors. After not being able to be seated at another Mexican restaurant in St Louis because we didn't have our vaccination cards, my wife, son and I went in search of another Mexican restaurant. We landed on Padrinos Mexican restaurant and we were so glad we did! We were immediately greeted and seated at Padrinos and immediately served their tasty chips and salsa. We also ordered the guacamole and queso for the chips and they were delicious as well. For entrees, my son and I ordered the Birria Street Tacos. You get 3 tacos with the order. The tacos are made with well seasoned chuck roast with traditional toppings wrapped in 2 soft corn tortillas. You also get a cup of Mexican au ju to dip the tacos in. They also come with traditional refried beans and rice. My wife had the mixed meat fajitas with beef, chicken and shrimp. This also came with traditional refried beans and rice. All entrees were delicious and well prepared. Padrinos also offers pitchers of their house margaritas which made the meal extra special. We had an awesome experience! Thanks Padrinos!
