Restaurant that has changed its look compared to the beginning, lost a lot in the Lazio tradition, in local products. It requires maintenance especially in the bathrooms where the lack of maintenance is completely evident.

I think VyNIQUE (previously Vyta) may be one of the most slept-on restaurants in the historic center of Rome, especially when it comes to their pastas, which I haven’t found better renditions of amatriciana or cacio e pepe anywhere else. Their fish is excellent, as are their vegetables (particularly the eggplant) and their bread. Thinking about it, I actually don't think I’ve ever eaten anything here that wasn’t excellent—it’s all stupendous! Their cocktails also can’t be beat. The atmosphere is cool and sophisticated with lots of black and gold accents and modern light fixtures. Service is very good; maybe a slight bit more impersonal than you’d find in say, a Florentine trattoria, but I don’t mind that. Great location, within walking distance of most everything within the historic center. We return every time we come back to Rome—give it a try, and you’ll see (taste) why.
