Authentic Chinese food. They have a variety to choose from. I recommend the General Tao chicken and vegetable Lo mein. Buy two eggrolls. Worth it. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I have to say—I’m pretty impressed with this spot. The Chinese-American takeout I grew up with in Chicagoland is different from what I’ve found on the East Coast and throughout the Mid-Atlantic, and I’ve been chasing that nostalgia for a while. Panda House brings a little bit of it back. Let’s start with the egg rolls, because they deserve their own moment. These things are massive, clearly homemade, and packed with flavor. This is not your typical Food Lion strip-mall egg roll that’s 97% bland cabbage and 3% mystery meat. These are full-on Flavor Town (yes, Guy Fieri would approve). Easily some of the best egg rolls I’ve had—not just in Raleigh, but across the DMV and Philly. The rest of the menu holds up as well. Everything I’ve tried has been solid, and the portion sizes are generous—definitely enough for leftovers the next day. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable, which makes the value here hard to beat. Final thought: This is my go-to Chinese takeout spot. I literally drive past other places to come here—and that says it all. Do yourself a favor and make Panda House your go-to as well. It’s solid. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
