As I stepped into the cozy, attic-like space of this charming eatery, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and familiarity wash over me. This was our second visit, and we were thrilled to share this hidden gem with our family and friends who were joining us for the first time. The quaint, intimate setting, with its seating of just 18, made it the perfect retreat from the chilly weather outside. We made sure to arrive early, securing our spots as the first in line, knowing that this popular spot doesn't take reservations on weekends. As we settled in, my dad and brother-in-law eagerly ordered the pulled beef, which I didn't have the chance to try myself. However, their satisfied smiles and nods of approval told me all I needed to know--a delightful interplay of sweet and savory flavors that had them thoroughly impressed. Several of us opted for the classic ham and cheese, a tried-and-true combination that never disappoints. The perfect balance of salty ham and sweet, melty cheese had us savoring every bite, appreciating the simple yet satisfying flavors. For those with a sweet tooth, the Sufian is an absolute must-try. Imagine tender, sliced bananas generously dusted with a delicate cinnamon-sugar blend and crowned with a dollop of fresh cream. It's a heavenly combination that satisfies your sugar cravings without overwhelming your palate. But the true showstopper, in my humble opinion (and echoed by several others in our group), was the Kai. This extraordinary pancake creation arrived topped with crispy bacon, a drizzle of golden honey, and generous slabs of creamy, fresh brie cheese. The interplay of salty bacon, sweet honey, and the rich, velvety texture of the brie was nothing short of divine. Each bite transported us to a realm of culinary bliss, leaving us marveling at the sheer genius of this flavor combination. In the end, our second visit to this hidden gem only reinforced our love for this special place. The cozy atmosphere, the friendly service, and the incredible flavors had us all vowing to make it a regular stop on our future vacations. If you find yourself in the area, be sure to seek out this little slice of heaven. Just remember to arrive early and be prepared for a truly unforgettable dining experience.

This was my second time in Amsterdam and last time, I could not check out this restaurant! My husband and I were able to get in without a reservation, and we are so grateful. My husband had pancakes with baked apples and powdered sugar, and I had pancakes with banana and caramel sauce. To get to the restaurant, you need to climb steep stairs, but it is worth it. The staff was excellent and pleasant. I'm so lucky that I made it in.
