The English name “ paper dome” is much better fit than the Chinese name “paper church”. It was originally built as a church which was made of paper tubes & paper after Osaka Kobe earthquake in 1995. In 2005, The architect then donated it to Taomi community of Puli which was badly damaged by 1999 921 earthquake. It symbolizes the cares from Japanese & hopes to encourage people to rebuild their homes & communities after the horrible earthquake. It’s nice to come in here to meditate & mingle your spirits with the paper dome & surrounding ponds & other stuff. The paper dome seems like to harmonize & refresh/recharge your internal energy. Highly recommend to stop by to enjoy the meditations with the paper dome & natural surroundings.

Wasn't worth the entrance fee. I think it would be better to have a nice restaurant and charge a bit more then to charge for something I can see from the road. Nice area but I wouldn't go back
