I visited Pasta Mania (Alfred House Gardens) yesterday and ordered the Carbonara Pasta (LKR 1,980) and Spicy Chicken Pasta (LKR 1,580), both prepared with Spaghetti. The Spicy Chicken Pasta completely lacked spice and tasted overly acidic due to an excessive amount of tomato sauce. The Carbonara was equally disappointing as the meat pieces were badly overcooked and charred black, ruining the entire flavor profile. On top of that, the portion sizes were noticeably small for these price points. While the food subtotal came to LKR 4,640, additional charges—LKR 464.00 Service Charge, LKR 127.60 SSCL, and LKR 941.69 VAT—pushed the final bill to LKR 6,173.00. Charging such heavy taxes and service fees requires a much higher standard of food quality and customer service than what was delivered. The restaurant interior feels dull, outdated, and unchanged, and the seating is very uncomfortable. Overall, a very disappointing dining experience that offers zero value for money.
