Great place to stop to eat. After our long drive from NM we decided to spend the night in Shawnee. First steak house that popped up on our GPS was Paul’s. The place was busy which was a good sign. (Local hot spot) We didn’t have a reservation but the hostess was nice enough to find a spot for us. She even recommended the ribeye to us. Which came out great. All around great place and service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

In January I sent a message via Yelp indicating I wanted to buy a gift certificate for a good friends birthday. I received this message below: Yes, You can either call 405-275-5650 and we can take care of it over the phone. Depending on where you are located you could just stop by. They told me all she had to do was tell them when she came into the restaurant and they would give it to her. Fast forward to tonight - she goes into the restaurant and they said there were nothing there for her so she paid for the meal herself. This is totally unacceptable! This was a birthday present and this is the reception she received from this establishment for her birthday. I sent another email to them and received a form letter response. I would expect better service recovery given the circumstances. If you had a similar situation how would you feel? I will see what they do for service recovery to decide if I ever use them again!! I was promised this would be taken care of to celebrate her birthday. They failed miserably. She said 2 different people went and looked and found nothing. When she got home she sent me a note because she thought I cancelled it. I sent her the emails and my credit card receipt and she called the restaurant and they acknowledged they had it. Too late now - she already paid for the meal! So frustrated with this establishment. Update: owner responded it was taken care of but that is a half truth. Being fully transparent when she called back later they did find it and said she could pick it up on her next visit - but that is not taking care of it. She went to the restaurant to use the certificate and had to pay for the meal on her own...how is that taking care of it??? When you make a mistake - own it - and provide service recovery. Your idea of taking care of it is for her to pay for the meal on her own, say there is no certificate, and then later in the day acknowledge there is a certificate and she can use it on her next visit?? I am sorry - that is unacceptable. How embarrassing for both of us that I tell her I bought her a gift certificate and was told, by you, that all she had to do is come in and tell your staff about it and then she is told there is no gift certificate. It is your responsibility to maintain your records...not hers or mine. In retrospect I would think you would have done much more to address your mistake and the explanation given is far from my expectations in terms of "taking care of it".

I am sorry that I am just seeing this review. But I believe this was taken care the same day she came the to pick up the gift certificate. You emailed me, I responded within 12 minutes receiving it, and I stated the you had purchased the gift certificate 3 week prior to her trying to pick it up that it why we could not find it on our records right away. We did find it and I believe she received the gift certificate that night.
