The Pear Tree Inn Farmhouse Kitchen with Bar & Rooms in Melksham is a delightful place to stay and enjoy a meal. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed with a warm smile from the staff, who are attentive and friendly. The rooms are cosy and comfortable with luxurious toiletries provided, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The food is excellent, with a great range of drinks to choose from and delicious meals that are cooked with real passion and attention. The outdoor area is beautiful, with plenty of sheltered areas under cover in case of rain, and the garden is peaceful and picturesque. The staff are so helpful and friendly, and they take a genuine interest in their customers. We had a wonderful time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Wiltshire.

Fantastic! Went for Sunday lunch & everything about our visit was perfect. Staff, food & location all thoroughly recommended. Prices were reasonable, cant say enough about the place. Well worth a visit.

I have been to The Pear Tree Inn, Whitley, a few times. It's so lovely to sit in the beautiful garden. We had the dressed crab a couple of years ago with flowers from the garden, and keep hoping they will do that again, but haven't seen it on the menu lately. I phoned The Pear Tree to check before leaving to ask what time we could order lunch until, and she said 2:15, so we rushed to get there on time. We got there just before 2:15 and she seemed annoyed that we asked if we could still order. We should have left as they didn't want us there, but when I said that she said on the phone that the kitchen will be open until 2:15, she said that as long as we ordered straight away. I asked if they do Pepsi Max or Coke Zero, but she said still a bit annoyed that they only do normal or diet Coke. I don't like diet Coke, so asked what other soft drinks they do, and was shown a menu that said they do Karma Cola in full sugar or diet, which I like and isn't the same as diet Coke. I ordered the whole Cornish sole on the bone for £29. I liked how it was described as coming with lots of local vegetables. I asked if I could replace the new potatoes with chips and she double checked if I wanted the large or skinny fries. It arrived surprisingly fast but without the chips. I thought the fish tasted a bit raw but kept eating it as wasn't sure if that was just the kind of fish, but when I saw blood around the spine bones I felt my first impression was correct, but I didn't want to leave it for £29. Also the vegetables were hard and raw, so they obviously rushed it. I like how steamed vegetables are more firm than boiled, but I had to pick up the mangetout to eat like raw vegetables. I did tell the man at the bar as we were leaving that it tasted raw, and he just said that he would tell the chef. Maybe it was our fault for staying when they were annoyed we asked if we could still order lunch, but my friend said that we spent around £60 and most businesses would have been glad of the custom. I then woke in the middle if the night with very bad stomach pains and don't know if it's connected.
