I was not expecting to find such beautiful Peruvian cuisine in Mérida, but I’m so happy I did. They have some of the most delicious ceviche I’ve ever had. It was so good, I ate here twice during my 5 day visit! I still dream of the tangy ceviche de atun apasionado!

During my one-month stay in Mérida I ate at Peruano three times because it’s that good! I really liked the ceviche, I dare say it's the best I've ever tried. The empanadas are amazing as well, the yuca flour elevates the taste. I understand why this restaurant is full all of the time, so consider making a reservation. Alternatively, there's another Peruano in Paseo 60 in the "gourmet market", which is a really nice plaza (the photo is from this location).
