The atmosphere at Petition is highly enjoyable and nice, blending the historic character of the State Buildings with a vibrant, modern design. It is a visually appealing space that sets a great tone for dining in the heart of the Perth CBD. The food is genuinely good and artistically prepared, with a clear focus on beautiful presentation. The beef tataki is excellent, arriving precisely sliced and packed with delicate, well-balanced flavors. For the mains, the lamb rump is technically well-executed—tender, succulent, and presented like a work of art on the plate. Accompanying the meal, the signature cocktail is very good, demonstrating excellent balance and craftsmanship. While the quality of the cooking and the presentation are consistently high, the portions are on the smaller side for the price point. Ultimately, the combination of a great setting and refined culinary execution makes Petition a venue well worth visiting at least once. One thing I didn't appreciate was the tipping requests which was not aligned with Australian norms. I would personally prefer the tip to be added to the cost of food and drinks.
