Ambience is nice, a little loud, which makes it hard to hold a conversation. Staff were very attentive and the service was overall very smooth, at the right pace, and with no delays. They also put a nice 'happy anniversary' card on our table, which was a pleasant surprise. Food was decent. We tried a few things: Salmon tartar, 4/5 Grilled shrimp, 5/5 Lobster gnocchi, 3.5/5 Smashed burger, 4/5 Cocktails that we tried were ok, but not that well-balanced. This was around closing time, but anyway that was our experience. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $80–90

I heard good things about this place, but I was deceived by how disappointing it was. The food is just bland with one dimensional flavor. I got the dip, the shrimps, and the pizza. The chips didn’t have salt, the shrimps didn’t stand out, and cheese on the pizza was weird. There weren’t a lot of people but they were SO loud. I could barely hear myself talking and had to yell for the other person to hear me. The restaurant should either install sound absorbers or tell their customers to use inside voice. Lastly, all the servers on the floor disappeared at the same time. I was waiting for what felt like forever. I wanted to leave, but I can’t leave without paying now can I? I wanted to order drinks, but because we were waiting for so long it totally killed our vibe. I wasted time and money. Never going back. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I just love being at Petula's. It's got a gorgeous and comforting vibe that's perfect for a group, a date, or for catching up with a friend. The food is delicious no matter what you get, and it's awesome to have a place with natural wines (and fun mocktails + cocktails!) With impeccable service and warm and inviting staff, this spot's an absolute gem in not just Southie but all of Boston. What Rachel Titcomb has achieved - from the intentional and thoughtful menu options, to decor, to the warm and inspiring vibe - is nothing short of exquisite. The patio in the summer is awesome, but cozying up there in the winter is also great any night. Already can't wait to be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
