Underwhelming stay: Neglecting the basics All in all, simply not good enough. Would not recommend staying here. Would in fact never consider to return even if they were to pay me to. Considering this was one of their premium rooms I shudder to imagine the state of the cheaper ones. I get the distinct impression that this hotel in the past has worked hard to build a reputation, only to stop putting in any effort—or perhaps they underwent a change in management. Most of the issues that disrupted our stay have simple remedies, yet they were clearly neither inspected nor fixed ahead of the peak season. While our room was spacious and featured a bubble-pool and a large TV, that unfortunately sums up the positives. The overall state of the room was sub-standard at best. The decor felt dated, the furnishings were rugged, and the rug was flimsy and faded. Found a spider, complete with his own little web near the bed. Outside, the balcony floor and most of the outdoor furniture were covered in bird feathers and excrement. Inside, the bed's headboard was visibly dirty, and when the AC was turned on emitted an annoyingly loud, high-pitched noise. Furthermore, the room door had swollen so much that it required considerable force to open or close. I genuinely feel sorry for our neighbours, who undoubtedly suffered from the inevitable slamming. As for the amenities, having pool access was nice, but we only enjoyed it on our first day. The following day, the pool was closed for maintenance—a task that surely should have been scheduled during closing hours. Additionally, despite staying in one of the hotel’s most expensive rooms, we could rarely connect to the Wi-Fi. On the rare occasions we did, it failed to load a single page. Had to waste a considerable amount of my own mobile data to watch World Cup games. The neighbouring hotel restaurant was also a major letdown and extremely overpriced. Despite plenty of empty tables being available, we were seated at a table infested with ants, forcing me to spend half the dinner fighting off insects. To the staff's credit, we were at least politely welcomed, and our waiter was courteous. However, the food was a mixed bag: while the pistachio kebab had a great sear and was juicy, but the lamb skewers were unfortunately overcooked and lacking in taste. Disappointment coloured my stay in Șile since we literally paid to be more uncomfortable here than we would have been at home. Service: 1

Absolutely marvellous location, lovely staff, extremely friendly and helpful! Our room had wonderful views, very spacious, just a tiny bit tired looking since I guess its been used a lot over the summer, yet we were very comfortable. Lovely breakfast and extremely beautiful views as well as some lovely cats that were around the gardens and kept us entertained. Service: 5
