I’d love to rate the food and atmosphere however due to a discriminatory behaviour we were unable to sample such goods, hopefully those who come after us will be able to get served and enjoy their night!!!! 1 star

I have been going to the Phoenix for a while now and felt like I should give it some credit. I left a bad review for another place recently, so it is only fair I shout about the places that actually do things well. The chilli here is brilliant, loads of flavour and a proper kick. I am definitely getting older and my stomach does not handle the heat the way it used to, but I still keep ordering it because it is that good. The burgers are decent enough, I have had a couple I did not enjoy as much, but they are fine overall and just not the main reason I go back. The pub itself has a really nice, comfortable feel and the staff are always genuinely friendly. The steak and parm is a big highlight for me and something I am happy to recommend to anyone. The banter between the punters and the staff just adds to it all, like when we ordered neck oil and one of the guys joked he would be selling snake oil next. It is silly wee moments like that that make you feel at home. I am in here fairly regularly and always feel welcome. The Phoenix is a good spot with good people and it deserves a proper positive mention. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £10–20
