First time here, I was seated downstairs at the table at the bottom of the stairs, which had some lively traffic up and down with staff carrying fresh food and drinks from the bar downstairs. I didn’t mind the hustle and bustle. Was served quickly, attentive service, lovely chat with Jack whose service was impeccable. The panzanelle was my fav, and I enjoyed the garlic pizzette and the cacio and pepe was satisfyingly chewy. The tiramisu was a generous portion and not too sweet which I liked. Negroni and the house red were good selections. Would come again. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

A lovely meal tonight at Pici for my partners birthday! We’d had our eye on Pici since it opened last year and we weren’t disappointed. We had five plates to share - the pumpkin fritti, cured salmon, garlic butter pizzette, wild mushroom Campanella and the bbq wild mushrooms and polenta. The pizzette was divine, with a smokiness to the olive oil that we loved. I loved the freshness of the salmon, coupled with the briny taste of the gherkin and my partners favourite dish was the wood fired mushrooms - which were delicate yet full of flavour. Our only qualms was the pumpkin fritti - a bit too heavy on the batter, and it felt too rich in both texture and flavour compared to the other dishes. A little bit of spacing between dishes would have also been good, as it did feel that everything arrived at once. Finally a little extra salt in the mushroom pasta - bites full of Parmesan were perfect, but without it it felt a little bit lacking. Service was great, very engaging and friendly, without over-explaining the plates or the concept. We also had a deliciously sharp Sauvignon, and two scoops of ice cream to finish - the EVOO and the rhubarb and custard. These were divine and the perfect way to finish the meal. Value for money was extremely impressive, atmosphere lively and warm, and we will 100% be back to try out more of the menu!
