Hidden behind a a row of shoplots and up some stairs by Dewan MCA, this café is the last place you’d expect to find good Taiwanese-style drinks and food. If stairs aren’t appealing, there’s parking if you drive by the side. Drinks are the main draw—milk teas, matcha lattes, guava juice—and in the evenings there are desserts like sesame paste, taro balls, and red bean soup. The food is straightforward but satisfying. Crispy chicken cutlets, fried rice, fried noodles, mini hot pots, chicken chop cream pasta, and fried chicken wings all make solid appearances. Nasi lemak and Thai chicken rice hit the comfort spot, while the Taiwanese sausage can run a little overcooked. Then there’s the herbal egg, earthy and quietly powerful when it’s on point. It’s a little gem alongside the more standard bites. Pin Cha is a peaceful, unhurried spot with charm and a touch of romance. Portions are generous. Orders and payments are usually at the counter, though staff may take them at the table when it’s quiet. Prices are also wallet-friendly, which only makes the food taste better. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
