Great lunch. The caesar salad looked and tasted amazing with good dressing to salad ratio, crunchy croutons and perfectly poached egg. Desert was panacotta with Italian meringue and it didn't disappoint Nice setting, quiet as not so busy today. Will return. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet

Its unfortunate that the last 2 visits throughout this year to the Pine Grove hotel haven't been the greatest experiences. Mainly due to the poor/lack of service recieved. Today, we thought we'd give it another chance, and we had a lunch for 10 people for a family members birthday celebration, and once again, very poor service. We ordered drinks and meals at same time when we were seated, it was well over 30 mins before receiving our drinks order, in dribs and drabs. It was then at least an hour and 15mins wait for our meals started to come out. We were seated just after 12.45, our meals came out at 2.15pm. Its been the same issue every visit. It wasn't exactly what I would class as busy either. I've seen the Piney many a times be so much busier, and always recieved much higher standards of service. I would expect a longer wait time if the place was jam packed, but it certainly wasn't. Our family have enjoyed visiting the Piney for many years, but todays visit will likely be our last. Meals were satisfactory, but just that. Perhaps the issue is being understaffed, or lack of good management and not having experienced staff? Don’t know. But its certainly a shame. It had the old pub atmosphere, but its lost its old pub charm. Service: 1
