I am visiting from Canada, on my first night in Milan; the front desk at our hotel suggested an area that we could go have some authentic Italian pizza. We ended up at Pizzando Grigliando, it was a complete nightmare. Firstly, it was over an hour and a half wait for a table; it was a Saturday night and they were very busy (not a problem). After being told we would be seated in 10-15 minutes, I had to continuously ask the "manager" what was going on. To say the least, he WAS NOT pleasant. He assured me that we would be seated in order, I had noticed that local people who were coming in after us were being seated before us. They apparently had reservations (understandable), until 2 pairs of friends came in with NO reservation and got seated and served before us. I politely asked the manager why they were being seated before us, he responded extremely rudely by answering me in Italian; when he obviously knew I didn't speak Italian from our previous conversation 20 minutes prior. I answered him saying "sorry, I don't speak Italian", his response was mocking me saying "well, I don't speak English". While we we're all waiting, they offered us sparkling wine; we noticed that they were just refilling the dirty wine glasses and re-giving them to the customers. YUCK. Once we finally got seated, one of the servers came with water we had requested and dirty glasses. I had mentioned that the glasses were dirty and we wanted clean ones, she didn't come back. I had to get up and get myself clean glasses (WTF!?). I said to her "excuse me, I asked for clean glasses 20 minutes ago" the woman didn't even respond and just shoved new glasses into my face. After we ordered, it was a ridiculously long wait to get our food. Finally once it came, we we're completely over it. They didn't ask us if we needed anything else, they just dropped our pizza and walked away. Finally, we had enough and asked to speak to the "manager" or someone that speaks English. The manager had come to our table with someone who spoke english and NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY! The manager was honestly the rudest person I've ever come across while dinning in ANY country. I've been to 15+. I told this man how disgusted I was with the service we had received and NOTHING. I was literally in SHOCK. They didn't apologize, offer us a glass of wine, NOTHING. I even mentioned I was going to be posting on social media, google, trip advisor, and facebook. He said, "Do whatever you want".... good comprehension of English for someone who doesn't speak English. To finish up, we said we weren't paying for such awful service; and for an establishment they should really get their shit together. Only once a little bit of commotion happened and voices started getting raised, they told us to just get out and pretty much shoved us out the door.
UNEXEPTABLE.
