Pocket Bakery is a pop-up bakery inside Magpie Toy Shop, and operates on Saturdays only from 10am to 1pm in Central District. I was able to try many products and they were certainly fantastic. Owner Josh Grunig baked all the products and his menu changes every week with intriguing flavor combinations. My favorite, and first ever experience on, a tamale muffin; it was moist with real corn kernels and chopped jalapeno with tamale corn flavor. The muffin came with the most creamy and addictive herb butter that was generously garlicky. First time to have a parmesan fennel scone — excellent background savory flavor from parmesan cheese, accented by crunchy and aromatic fennel seeds in a drier and crumblier scone.
