Podges Place is a pub and bar tucked away on Roose Road in Mercer. Known for its pizza offerings, the establishment combines a community atmosphere with simple comforts that have historically resonated well with visitors, particularly those trekking along the Te Araroa trail. The setting seems aimed at providing a relaxed experience, underscored by its clear focus on offering both drinks and food in an approachable environment.
Open every day of the week from noon until midnight, Podges Place offers ample time for those interested in either a leisurely lunch or a late-night snack. While the bar prides itself presumably on a more exclusive pricing range, details on exact costs or other amenities are notably absent. With a charming garden area reportedly enhancing its atmosphere, it's a space where dining extends beyond just meals to include ambient appreciation.
However, potential patrons should be aware that information provided may be outdated. The latest visitor insight is from five years ago, leaving questions about any changes in menu or service quality unanswered. As such, those looking to experience Podges might want to check directly for any updates before planning their visit.

Our organisation has just received a grant of $2575 from Pub Charities and, since we are based at Port Waikato, you are our closest Pub Charities venue.
This note is just to say thanks to everyone and to let you know how money from the gambling machines has helped us.
The Adult Literacy Rural Trust gives free help to isolated rural adults who need to learn to read and write better. Believe it or not, in NZ that is 1 out of every 10 people, so you probably know someone who has a literacy problem.
The donation will be used to help our students access learning materials and to talk to their tutors, who are in different parts of NZ, using skype or mobile phones. We can ring mobiles more cheaply using skype, but it still costs money. (The grant paid for toner to print the materials and skype credit.)
Toner and skype are enormous expenses for us and we struggle to pay for them out of funding for running costs.
So thanks everyone!
