Five stars isn't enough for this wonderful Polish restaurant. Everything was fantastic. The food. The service. Everything. Best pierogi we've ever had! We will definitely be back!

I think I read about the Polish Paczki Café via an Eater feature, and I'm glad I made a detour all the way to this western part of Chicago from the more central neighborhoods that I usually explore. Here, you'll find not only the eponymous paczki but also heartly Polish entrees like cutlets, fried fish, burgers, potato pancakes, and pierogi. I ordered an assorted plate of pierogi - sauerkraut and mushroom, meat, and potato and cheese - and it all held up as a takeout order that I enjoyed at a nearby brewery. Very much savory and hearty, and also freshly prepared. Since the café has it in its name, I also ordered a couple of paczki, which were totally enjoyable. They're similar to jam-filled donuts and have a light, slightly crispy, yet highly chewable crust. Again, super fresh. Service was very sweet, helpful, and accommodating given that I was obviously the only customer of non-Polish descent. And even though I stopped by in the late afternoon, there was a steady stream of walk-in and dine-in customers. An excellent, local, independent find! Pro tip: just as "panini" in Italian is the plural form of "panino," "paczki" and "pierogi" are already plural forms of "paczek" and "pierog," so there's no need to add an "s" to them.
