They have one of my favorite pizzas. I usually don't like pizza on the second day but their pizza was even good on the second day. Their pastas are not bad but not my favorite. They use to have gnocchi on their menu and loved it , they don't have it anymore :(

Had dinner at Ponte Vecchio Ristorante E Pizzeria on Thursday evening. Started our meal with the Focaccia, Carpaccio, and Meatballs, then split the Figs Ravioli Truffle and Seabass With Risotto. Quality Ponte Vecchio Ristorante is the type of Italian restaurant that aims to please. With a large and diverse menu of staples, an assortment of pizza, and numerous daily specials, it has stuff for both picky children and critical foodies. Our meal started unexpectedly with the Focaccia, which I assumed was the complimentary bread, but actually is an appetizer. And while it was decent, I did not appreciate the misleading approach to getting it on the table. We also ordered the Carpaccio and Meatballs as appetizers. I was a big fan of the Carpaccio, with flavorful slices of raw beef topped with a small salad, shaved parmesan cheese, and olive oil. I was less impressed with the Meatballs, which had a delicious marinara sauce and a good chunk of ricotta, but were way too dry. For our entrees, I absolutely loved the Figs Ravioli Truffle. Wonderful little pockets filled with fig, then tossed with shallots, fontina cheese, and truffle. A perfect blend of sweet and just the right amount of truffle. Absolutely my favorite dish of the evening. But that is not to say the Seabass With Risotto was bad. Extremely fresh and well cooked fish, along with well prepared risotto. It was tasty, but felt like two separate items rather than one that should be enjoyed together. Quantity I felt the portions of each of the dishes were very fair. The entrees we ordered were both large and filling, and each of the appetizers could easily be shared. Value Other than the ridiculous $8 price tag for the Focaccia, I felt the dishes were reasonable. Appetizers fell in the $10 to $15 range while pastas were between $15 and $20. For the quality and the size, it was a good deal. Ambiance Ponte Vecchio Ristorante is located along Coral Way. Despite its unique exterior, it blends into the seemingly never ending rows of stores that decorate both sides of the road. The restaurant has one small table outside, but I assume it is really for aesthetics. Inside the space really opens up. On the left they have a beautiful bar, that stretches about half the length of the restaurant. A singular television sits in the middle against a brick wall that is slightly obscured by the many different bottles on display. A small wall in the center acts as a partition from the bar to offer several tables and booths. And while at first I thought this was the extent of the space, there is actually another large room in the back. In this space you will find additional seating, including a second bar overlooking the kitchen and pizza oven. With both industrial and modern elements, the restaurant is able to function as casual, yet at the same time trendy. In the background Italian classics played over the speakers, but they were often drowned out by the restaurant guests. Crowd The restaurant was very lively on Thursday evening. When we arrived around half the tables were taken, but it filled up even more before we left. It was a mix of larger families and couples, and I was surprised at how many people were dressed up. It seems like a more casual Italian restaurant, but that was not the impression I got from the large number of guests dressed to impress. Service First, I have to say I do not appreciate how they handle the bread service. Upon sitting down our waiter immediately came over and asked if we would like bread, and we said yes. I had no idea this was signing us up for an $8 order of Focaccia. If the bread is not complimentary, like practically every other Italian place I have ever been, do not offer it up like it is. I would have preferred no bread be brought out and if I wanted it I would then order of the menu. This felt deceptive and put a damper on an otherwise solid meal. They also need to be better at sensing when a table is ready to leave. It took three asks to finally get my check, and it was a similar story for the tables around me. Parking There is a good amount of street parking in front of the restaurant along Coral Way. Apparently a few spots exist behind the restaurant as well, but they seemed more trouble than they were worth. Multiple times during the meal patrons had to move their cars to accommodate others trying to leave. Extra It really is a shame how much the bread hurt my overall feelings of the restaurant. However, it felt like the tactics of an Ocean Drive sham restaurant and should immediately be halted. In the end the solid food and beautiful space at Ponte Vecchio Ristorante could only make up for some of the initial sting.
