Been twice for sauna and swimming - 17c water and 12c today. An unusual, though ever more popular experience, and very invigorating. Great value really. The Lakeside sauna has a great view, and for groups it's good fun for those still in the sauna to see if their friends have taken the plunge or not. I've seen some people describe it as stunning, which is a little over the top. It is very pleasant though. They seem to be doing some improvement works, which hopefully will make some facilities like the changing a bit better. It's hard to get dried and dressed "modestly" in a communal hut and though personally I don't care if they are unisex changing rooms or not, I imagine most women don't want to be changing in front of men. So, I go to the cold, concrete toilet block. Also, with the rain the paths are a getting a bit sloppy. A contiguous paved path would be good. Still, it's not a luxury spa, it's wild swimming. So, I guess it's a little bit part of the vibe.

This is by far the best Sauna experience in the UK nothing I've found anywhere else is even close! Direct access to the wild swimming lakes means it is as close to the real deal as I've seen anywhere outside Finland. My only complaint is the short 1 hour fixed time slots are really uncool, sauna should be relaxing not rushed like that. Further tip more stones on the heater, ignore the manual and pile them high, feel free to send me a free pass when you save 50% on your firewood bill :) Service: 5

Absolutely amazing! My first time swimming outside (as an adult) I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, especially at the end of October but I surprised myself and thoroughly enjoyed it! Though it felt hard to get in after the sauna haha! The location is easy to get to and the cafe is amazing the ladies who work there were super nice and I'm still thinking about how delicious the food were! We will definitely be back!!
