Both Ella Gap Waterfall and Pool Hut are recommended for visiting. If you have never tasted Sri Lankan cuisine, you should order a table and try the menu at this cafe. Friendly service and nice place to have a beer because you have a view of the street. but the food for some reason was absolutely atrocious. Everything, also the curry, had a horrible aftertaste and the “veggie burger” was just some raw vegetables and a small cold piece of cheese between some bread. I hope this is just an outlier because the other reviews seemed to be so positive but the food that night was disgusting. A Hidden Gem in Ella with Incredible Food and Service — Pool Hut Cafe on Ella Station Road. The food is amazing, especially the chicken curry, full of rich local Sri Lankan flavors. This place is a true hidden gem in the heart of Ella. Shalika, our waiter, was fantastic - the atmosphere is great! Some of the best food I have had in Ella. Pool Hut Cafe is not to be missed!
