Wow! Where does one start?! Poor Calvin stands at the top of the list when it comes to good food in the city of Atlanta. The food here is simply dreamy! My fiancée and I visited Poor Calvin's on a Sunday evening. We had a short wait, about 30 mins. There was some slight confusion because my fiancee's name is Kori and one of the host was named Corey. We were eventually seated outside and everything worked out well. They were very nice about everything. We ordered the Deviled Eggs for an appetizer. My fiancée has talked about these Deviled Eggs since we left!! She woke up the other day craving them. These fried deviled eggs covered and smothered in an infused BBQ (but not BBQ) sauce with veggies and crab were literally everything you'd ever want in a deviled egg. They were delicious! I ordered the Chilean Sea bass and she had the Lobster Fried Rice. The Sea bass was pan seared to perfection. It was fresh, flaky, and seasoned phenomenally. The roux and the artichokes gave it a nice additional flavor and really took it to the next level. It's a must try dish. The Lobster Fried Rice was amazing. My fiancée loved the Thai-infused fried rice and enjoyed the lightly and perfectly battered lobster. This is one of their top dishes and you can't go wrong with it. Overall, you have to try Poor Calvin's. We also purchased two cocktails and it brought our bill up to about $150 with added gratuity. The service was wonderful. The food was delicious. And this is a place you must try!

This is my first time returning to Poor Calvins after our poor experience before the pandemic began. I came to Poor Calvins and the staff was very welcoming and inviting. Our host, Louise was delightful. Super sweet and helpful. For drinks, We ordered their: House-made Raspberry Lemonade Sprite  *this comes in a glass bottle, so I don't believe they offer refills. Appetizers: Seafood Spring rolls- These came out piping hot, which is a plus. Everything tasted so fresh. The sauces made the dish. We ordered a second order because they were that good. Main Course: Pad Thai with Shrimp and Scallops- This dish made me appreciate lower end pad Thai. I appreciate the thought of the fresh tamarind and other ingredients but I think it was too sweet for my liking. I enjoy lots of fresh crushed peanuts on my pad Thai but it seemed like there were a lot more unnecessary toppings that I could've done without. It looked really beautiful though. The peppercorn has to go lol. Fried Chicken with Lobster Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens- Super yummy marinated chicken, the Mac and cheese is always my favorite (if I could have a large portion of that I would), and collards were good. I'm used to the southern collards but these are good as well. Thanks for a great experience this time around. * keep in mind they take automatic 18% gratuity no matter the party size*
