Love this place, great selection of ice cream and friendly staff! They were out of one ice cream, however the staff offered suggestion from one of there many other flavors.

Really cute ice cream shop that makes their own ice cream and plays amazing music! It has a very classic red and white checkered interior The ice cream is light and doesn't make you feel bloated afterwards. You can ask to try a sample beforehand. I got the toasted coconut ice cream and it was delicious! They are very generous with their scoops!

Pops Old Fashioned Ice Cream is right in Old Town, Alexandria near the waterfront. I went when it wasn't busy so there wasn't a line. They have a few benches inside and outside but it's mainly a grab and go place. They have a wide variety of flavors and one scoop starts at $5. They do have lactose-free soft serve available. I tried the Mint Oreo and the Big Papa. I honestly was expecting it to be better after reading about how much people raved about this place. I thought the ice cream was good but not spectacular. The texture was rather icy rather than creamy, and for the price I didn't find it worth it. TLDR: It's good but overhyped and overpriced in my opinion.
