We ended up at POP’s Smokehouse almost by accident after another steakhouse showed as open but was actually closed, and honestly I am glad it worked out that way. What started as a backup plan turned into one of the best food stops I have had in a long time. The American brisket burger was absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. The brisket was tender, packed with flavor, and had that perfect smoky bite that makes you understand immediately why a place like this needs more room. It was easily one of the best brisket burgers I have ever eaten, maybe the best. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the whole visit feel welcoming from the start. They are in the middle of expanding and transitioning into a larger space, so right now the food is prepared next door and brought over, but honestly that did not bother me at all. If anything, after tasting the food, it makes complete sense why they are growing. This is the kind of small business that clearly earned the need for more space. Easy parking, great service, and food that completely overdelivered. What was supposed to be a random stop ended up being a place I would go out of my way to visit again. If you like traditional smokehouse style BBQ then this is the place! Pop's has amazing brisket, it's so tender it just melts in your mouth! The chopped pork and sausage is very tasty. I wanted to try their ribs, but we got there late and they were sold out so that makes a return visit necessary Also, we found that some of the sides were equally impressive like the okra, mac'n cheese and the deep fried corn on the cob. And the banana pudding is like homemade...it was off the chain! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30

We were in cherokee on june 6th and decided to try Pop's Smokehouse.This place did not disappoint the food was excellent and so was the service and very friendly. I will definitely eat there again when we come back and will recommend this restaurant to everyone.
