One of my favorite places for unique pastries, fresh bread and lunch. You cannot go wrong with anything ordered at this place. This trip we tried the Cilantro Chicken Ceasar and I couldn't believe how fresh it was. The cilantro dressing was delicious. Also grabbed a few Omelette croissants. You guys!!!! The croissants are so buttery and flaky. Grabbed quite a few favorite pastries like guava cheese and cheese rolls. I always like to grab a few boxes with two in each to give out to neighbors. The packing is fabulous and you always know there's goodness inside when you see a Portos box. Tried the cheese and spicy potato balls and the chicken croquette for the first time becuase it was recommended to us by a guy in line and they were both delicious. Seriously after eating a spicy potato ball there's no going back to plain potato balls. For drinks we tried the new blue jasmine matcha latte and the Dulce De Leche Latte. I loved the flavor of the jasmine matcha latte but it was super sweet. Pretty sure you can ask them to take it down a notch with the jasmine syrup. There's parking in the back lot and street parking on Magnolia and the east side. There's always a line no matter which Portos location you visit but it goes pretty fast so it's not a big deal.

I recently visited Porto's after not having been here for years. During my visit, I ordered some of my favorite items, including potato balls and the chocolate twist. The potato balls are always a treat - savory, perfectly sized and packed with flavor. The chocolate twist was also a standout - not too sweet and light, making it the perfect pastry to enjoy with a cup of coffee. But what surprised me during my visit was the chocolate chip cookie. It was chewy and packed with chocolate chips. Speaking of coffee, I highly recommend trying their iced matcha latte with oat milk. It was so smooth and refreshing, and the addition of oat milk made it even creamier. The staff at Porto's were attentive and quick. Their efficiency was impressive, especially given the high volume of customers they serve daily. Same level as those who work at In-n-Out. I highly recommend visiting Porto's Bakery and Cafe. I wish we had a place like this in Chicago. And as much as I've enjoy ordering online, nothing beats the freshness of the treats when you're there in person. I'll be back again soon. Pros: Everything is fresh and tasty Cons: The wait time (especially on weekends), but honestly worth it.
