After looking at Grotta di Fornillo, have a meal at Posides. The Italian and Mediterranean cuisines attract visitors looking for positive impressions. Forget all the other restaurants in Positano. This is the only restaurant you need to try. I have tried many restaurants during my trip in europe so far. Ive tried places in Como, bellagio, mennagio, lenno, varrena, and positano. The food is very mediocre in the 10-15 places I have eaten so far. Posides is the only place that exceeded expectations. Meatballs, 10/10. The pasta with fish, 10/10. Tiramisu, 10/10. chicken thigh, 10/10. The chef/owner/workers are all so friendly and inviting. the space is small but i think it makes their service that much better. Highly recommend. Forget all the hyped up tiktok places like La sponda, Max, Vincenzo, etc. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30

I don't know where to start, so I'll just say it plainly: this was one of the most engaging, joyful, and downright delicious dining experiences of my life. It begins the moment you walk in, with the lovely woman at the front of house — a bright soul who greets you with such warmth you feel like a guest in the family home rather than a customer. Then there's Antonio and Ilario, the most dynamic duo you could ever want running a kitchen. Think Batman and Robin. Think SpongeBob and Patrick. The banter, the energy, the obvious love they have for what they do, it's half the show. And then the food. Oh my goodness. I had the fish with herbs and potatoes, and I mean it when I say it was the freshest thing I've ever put in my mouth. The presentation was phenomenal, but it was the feeling it left on the palate that got me, like eating at your grandmother's table. For dessert, a buffalo ricotta cheesecake with peach compote: thoughtful, original, and unlike anything I'd had before. But the highlight? Antonio spotted me playing chess and offered me a deal, beat him and the meal was free. Now, he's rated in the 2000s on Chess.com and I'm hovering around 700, so I'm fairly sure he knew how this was going to end. To make it interesting, he was busy cooking the whole time and couldn't even look at the board, so he called out his moves verbally from the kitchen, holding the entire game in his head like some kind of savant. Reader, he won. Of course he won. I walked out of Posides genuinely happy, the kind of happy that feels good for your soul. The service, the food, the human warmth of it all. As the Italians say: mamma mia. Do not miss this place. No matter how long the wait, it's worth it.
