We found Sweets and Savories at the Poulsbo Farmer's Market this weekend, and we were delighted with our sweet and savory purchases. The loaf of bread we brought home was perfectly baked, and the chocolate tart and Nanaimo bar incredibly delicious. We especially appreciated that the sweets weren't too sweet, because of contrasting flavors used in recipes. Overall, this stop was the highlight of our market visit, and we look forward to future opportunities to enjoy these treats.
Recommended to us by our favorite Nordic retailer in old town Poulsbo, the world famous purveyor of Norwegian goodies, "Nordiska"! This is an amazing find! Oxalis Kitchen serves local coffee yes, but also fantastic lunches with many locally sourced items from the Poulsbo Farmers Market. Oxalis is open Wednesday-Friday. Eileen's "Sweets & Savories - cakes" is open Monday and Tuesday. Don't be fooled by the name this is no one trick pony desserts shop! Sure the sweets are amazing but the Savory lunch fare here is also fantastic and also includes locally sourced products from the Poulsbo Farmers Market and the same great local coffee. Today we had the roasted tomato and Brie on toast and the Salmon sandwich which is awesome! Fresh brewed coffee was medium but more flavorful than you will likely find almost anywhere else in Poulsbo. Take it from this local coffee fantastic. Be sure to try the desserts!
