Visited the Powis Arms Hotel on Sunday 03 November 2019 for the first time in the late afternoon for a drink having seen the listing in the Good Beer Guide. The place is a rural roadside friendly basic public house with an interesting layout and food on offer for a large part of the day.PARKING & ACCESSThe Powis Arms is alongside the northbound side of the A483. There is a small car park to the left of the Powis Arms Hotel off Abbey Close . It has spaces for about 4 vehicles whilst others park in the road alongside the Powis Arms.LAYOUT of the buildingThe entrance door is on the left of the Powis Arms which leads directly into the main bar. A small passage leads from that room into two further rooms. A room on the left has comfortable chairs and fire place whilst straight on is a large square room with a pool table. The toilets are further to the left rear of the Powis Arms.BEER , FOOD & SERVICEThe Powis Arms has four handpulls for real ale but had only one real ale on at the time our visit. The Marston's Bombardier was ok and given recent heavy rain and flooding beer deliveries must be affected The food on offer was advertised on chalk boards above the bar with menus giving more details. It seems reasonably priced and was available all day on a Sunday from 12 -9.A large screen TV was on in the corner of the bar playing loudly a live Darts match and commentary. The people behind the bar seemed sadly more interested in the darts and not the customers.
