[Hamamatsu/Mikkabi "Lunch at Pet-friendly Café Prair surrounded by a flower garden"] Travel around Lake Hamana and head to Mikkabi's Cafe Restrant Prele, where dogs are allowed inside and on the terrace! This is one of the few cafe restaurants in Hamamatsu City that allows pets, and will open in the spring of 2020. The store name "Prêle" comes from the name of "Tsukushi-chan" (a girl), who is the main dog of this restaurant, and the French word for "Tsukushinbo" comes from "Prêle". If your timing is good, you'll also be able to meet the signboard dog, Tsukushi. The building, which was built by the previous owner with the image of southern France in mind, is now a Western-style brick building with an atmosphere that is hard to believe in Mikkabi, and you can enjoy a wonderful, well-kept flower garden! The first floor of the Western-style building will be the European general store "Bormes les Mimosas" and the second floor of the Western-style building will be the "Cafe Restrant Prele". The signature menu here is the ``Beef Cutlet Gozen'' (comes with beef cutlet, rice, miso soup, salad, and side dishes), which is made with high-quality domestic beef such as Mikkabi beef and Shizuoka beef. (Note: Beef cutlet is only available in-store) Unfortunately, the restaurant was full on this day, as it was the middle of Golden Week, and there were many customers from outside the prefecture, but luckily we were able to secure a seat on the terrace. On this day, we were blessed with fine weather, and the refreshing breeze of early summer was pleasant, making it warm and sunny, so seating on the terrace was the perfect choice! My dog, Chocolat, seems to enjoy being able to move freely on the terrace rather than having to sit still in the store. I also got to play with Luna, a toy poo, miniature dachshund, and chihuahua mix dog from Toyokawa who happened to be with me next door! The menu for this day is limited, only curry and drinks, no sweets. There are three types of curry: ``Pler curry,'' ``Alt Bavarian curry,'' and ``Three kinds of grilled cheese curry.'' If you are dining on the terrace, you must first decide on your menu and then pay at the restaurant on the second floor. “Three types of grilled cheese curry” ¥1,530 (tax included), “Pler curry” ¥1,270 (tax included) All items come with salad "Set salad" "Iced coffee" ¥470 Pets are allowed inside and on the terrace, but please note that this is a dog cafe and we do not serve dog meals. If you are bringing your pet with you, be sure to read the precautions on the website and follow proper etiquette. I say to Chocolat, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience," and I put her on my lap and enjoy the meal After your meal, take a stroll through the flower garden filled with blooming flowers! A bicycle with a basket full of flowers greets you with a welcome board. Garden chairs are set up here and there, so you can enjoy the view while taking a rest. The marguerites seen at this time of the year are soaking up the sunlight and seem to be stretching their backs. I don't know the variety, but climbing roses are also blooming with gorgeous large flowers. Bright red viola, white lace, and verbena with adorable small petals. On this day, the second floor was very lively, and the staff were busy going back and forth between seating on the terrace. A toy poodle meet-up is also held, where the children cleverly sit shoulder to shoulder and interact with the model dogs. Unfortunately, because it was Golden Week, the general store on the first floor was closed and not open. "Bormes les Mimosas (Mimosa Village)" OPEN: 11:00-16:00 CLOSED: Tuesday, Wednesday No matter where you look in the space surrounded by flowers, it becomes a photo spot. The time spent under the sunlight filtering through the trees You can spend a rich time as if you were on a short trip to an exotic world. Surrounded by greenery and flowers, this is one of the few rare cafe restaurants where you can spend time with your dog. "Cafe Restrant Prele"
