I stayed at this Premier Inn on 17/01/2024 with my husband, and in 8 short hours we were in the building Premier Inn managed to bungle our experience 4 times - yes, 4. It really didn't have to be this way, I just wanted to get in and get out with a decent night's sleep. An average of a problem every two hours is really an impressive rate, so let's take a closer look: 1) We arrived around midnight, having booked a premier room to enjoy the extra comfort, as I am 6.5 months pregnant and just landed from a 4 hour flight. The team check us in and send us to the wrong room - a standard which was worth less than we paid for. Husband goes down to explain, reappears with keys to the new room. We trundle all the luggage up 3 floors. 2) At the new room, we find both room keys don't work. Second visit to reception for my husband. Staff don't appear able to provide a correct key, so come up to see the issue. Staff member is nice enough and lets us in the room, but leaves us without a working key. We are leaving early so we accept it isn't too big an issue. Just desperate for sleep now. 3) Said staff member has kindly offered us complimentary breakfast to apologise for above errors. Husband asks if we need a slip for this in the morning, is told we definitely do not. We get up early to enjoy the breakfast, to be refused entry without a slip we were told we didn't need. Third trip to reception for husband. Instead of quickly rectifying the issue, that staff member asks my husband who promised us the breakfast - specifically 'what did they look like' - as if he was lying. Husband finally reappears with breakfast slips, by which time we have just 10 minutes left to eat. 4) Husband asks, as we leave to be collected by a family member, how to register our licence plate to avoid paying the drop off Gatwick fee. Staff member says to speak to the security man downstairs. Security man doesn't exist. Husband goes back upstairs, asks again, the same staff member who sent him downstairs out of nowhere then produces an ipad for husband to register car on. Staff member reasssures husband this is complete. 20 minutes after leaving, husband receives charge on his Gatwick account for £6 for the fee, which should have been over-ridden. Premier Inn - you had one job here - and somehow you screwed it up four times in the space of 8 hours. Poor belaeagured husband is currently trying to get through to your customer service team, and an automated message says he may have to wait 35 days for a response. I am starting to think I will give birth to my son before Premier Inn addresses any of this. Rooms: Extremely hot, the thermostat wouldn't go down which ruined the night of sleep Other than the total lack of sleep, premier room very pleasant Rooms: 5 Service: 1 Location: 5
