Clean and friendly service! When we come to my sister's house to visit, I avoid mainstream places and shop here! Love it! The deli is a must for a quick lunch.

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had in a grocery store. The cashier rang me up and I quickly realized I went over budget and decided to take a couple items off. My fault, but it obviously annoyed the cashier. I swipe my card and the cashier said out loud “is that food stamps? You have a zero balance.” I’m embarrassed that she just announced that I not only have food stamps but now she’s yelling out I also have zero balance. I apologize and say that can’t be right and I’ll be right back while I go call. After calling I found I did have the full amount on the card and came back in. I have no idea why she said there was zero balance. I was gone no more than 2 minutes. They cancelled the order and were wheeling it up to the front desk. I said hey I’d still like to purchase these and very visibly annoyed she said well it’s cancelled you’ll have to get back in line and scan the whole thing again. I said that’s fine, I understand. The cashier was very obviously annoyed that she had to scan my groceries again. Then the total came up to $5 more than the total of the groceries the first time. That doesn’t make sense, it’s the same groceries. I brought that to her attention and she said well who knowsand just stared at me. At this point I was so embarrassed and upset by how they’ve been treating me that I said I’m sorry, I will be leaving and the lady at the front desk does “maam you don’t do that. You don’t do that to the cashier”. I stopped clearly in tears and upset and said “thank you for your time. Have a good day”. I shouldn’t do what? Ask you to do your job that you signed up to do? Ask you not to act annoyed and rude to me and then admonish me for deciding I’d rather leave than continue to be treated in this manner? To the ladies that work here: Life is hard and frustrating and people make it all that much more difficult. But you have no idea what people are going through and you have no right to treat anyone with as much disrespect and malice as you displayed toward me today. I hope no one ever treats you or anyone you love how you’ve treated me. And I hope there’s some corner of your humanity and heart that isn’t so jaded you’d behave this way to someone else who was only respectful and kind to you.
